New York: Two market research firms have put Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) top of the global business consulting pile.

Deloitte says that Gartner has recognized the Deloitte member firms as leaders in business consulting worldwide based on aggregate member firm revenue for the second consecutive year in a new report, Market Share Analysis: Consulting Services, Worldwide, 2011.

According to the report, Deloitte is ranked the leader in business consulting services worldwide among the top 10 global consulting providers, with a 6.1 percent market share, with US$5.1 billion in 2011 and a growth rate of 14.3 percent.

The report notes that the Deloitte Americas region is the largest revenue contributor, responsible for 49.3 percent of the network's overall aggregate member firm revenues in 2011. Revenue in the Deloitte Western European region contributed 28.4 percent and the Asia Pacific and Japan region accounted for 14.4 percent of aggregate member firm revenues.

Gartner reported that the total end-user spending in the Top 10 Worldwide Consulting Service Providers by Revenue in 2011 grew 11 percent to nearly US$83 billion.

"We are honoured to receive Gartner's continued recognition of our strong performance and growth across regions and countries in critical consulting services," said Roger Dassen, DTTL Global Managing Director, Clients, Services & Talent.

"Deloitte member firm consulting professionals continue to create measurable value for clients, providing unmatched experience and insight across a broad range of industries and sectors."

Meanwhile IDC named Deloitte a leader in business consulting by aggregate member firm revenue in its most recent assessment series, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Business Consulting Services 2012 Vendor Analysis.
