Bain & Company appoints Azzarello to drive its growth in France

Domenico Azzarello

Paris: Bain & Company, the global business and management consultancy, has named Domenico Azzarello as managing director of its Paris office. His appointment was announced this week by Paul Meehan, head of the firm's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

In his new role, Azzarello will oversee all office operations including, business and client development, as well as the management of professional teams. His focus will be on driving the further expansion of the firm's French and international client portfolio.

"Domenico has an outstanding reputation for delivering great results for our clients and demonstrating exceptional leadership within Bain," said Paul Meehan. "This, coupled with his strategic insights into European business, makes him ideally suited to head our Paris office. We look forward to his continued success in this new role as he further accelerates our business in France."

Azzarello serves as a partner in Bain's Paris office. He is a leader in the firm's European Organization and Customer Strategy Practices and is one of the key contributors to the development of Bain's proprietary approach to organization redesign, Decision Driven Organizations. He has specific expertise in revenue growth, loyalty and customer experience improvement, and has guided more than ten major transformation programs focused on strengthening clients' go-to-market and customer service strategies.

A recognized expert on the telecommunications and media industries, Azzarello advises many of the leading companies in mobile, internet, cable and pay TV in Europe and the U.S. He has supported several challenging client re-organizations, including leading the restructuring of a major global telecom group.

"I am pleased to take on this new role, which gives me the opportunity to continue working with my trusted Bain colleagues in Paris and throughout Europe to guide businesses through large-scale transformations that will help them recover faster from recent economic headwinds, improve their performance and create sustainable, lasting growth," said Azzarello.

Azzarello joined Bain's Paris office in 2002 and later moved to the San Francisco office, where he helped develop the firm's West Coast telecom and media operations, before returning to Paris in 2011. He is a key member of the Bain global research team on loyalty and Net Promoter(r) Score (NPS).

Before Bain, he specialized in organization and optimization projects, as well as the telecom sector, at another global consulting firm. He began his career in marketing and strategy in the textile industry.

Azzarello publishes and is quoted regularly on customer experience and organization in the French media, including Figaro, Les Echos, La Tribune and Challenges, and the international press, such as Forbes.

He graduated from the international business program at Bocconi University in Milan.

He succeeds Jean-Marc Le Roux, who led Bain's French operations for the last five years, advancing its leadership and growth in the region, despite a challenging economy. Le Roux will return to full client service and will lead the further expansion of the firm's operations in the industrial and private equity sectors.
