SMEs hate No Deal, but they are wary of May's deal too - Ed Balls

Ed Balls

What do SME's think about Brexit?

A project led by former Labour cabinet minister Ed Balls at Harvard Kennedy School has been asking them throughout the last two years.

As we near the end game, Balls' team says, "The key conclusion... is unambiguous: the vast majority believe a "No Deal" outcome would be extremely damaging, and is a "worst-case scenario". While preferable to "No Deal" the "Blind Brexit" that would result from the combination of the DWA/DPD (Draft Withdrawal Agreement/Draft Political Declaration) would mean continued and damaging uncertainty, which is already having a negative impact for many businesses."

Balls' paper is here.
