Capco is top consultancy in Sunday Times' Best Companies list

Andrew Tarver

London: Financial services industry specialist Capco is the only management consultancy named in The Sunday Times '100 Best Companies to Work For' list for 2013.

The firms is ranked in 27th place, just as it was in 2012, and Capco says this accolade is all the more significant at a time when it has grown rapidly, adding hundreds of new staff, and shows that expansion is no barrier to retaining an attractive working environment.

Andrew Tarver, Capco Partner and UK CEO said, "I am delighted that our employees believe so strongly in their firm. We continue to invest in the development of every single employee and we strive to provide an environment which encourages collaboration, qualified risk taking, personal development and innovative thinking. This award is for every Capco employee and for the clients they serve every day. I raise a glass to each member of the Capco team."

Within the list, Capco was rated 23rd for leadership and personal growth, demonstrating the extent to which employees feel they are stretched and challenged by their jobs. The consultancy also ranked 17th in the fair deal category, an indicator of how happy the workforce is with its pay and benefits. Capco was also recognised as a top five company for inspiring leaders, up from 9th in 2011, demonstrating its management's commitment to inspire the organisation to 'think differently'.

The Sunday Times' annual list is based on a rigorous employee survey and company questionnaire. Capco's placement reflects strong, positive employee feedback on 2012. The last year saw changes across the business, following continued growth, with new staff joining the Capco community and further cementing the culture of the firm. The consultancy has also focused on driving innovation for clients, with further development of its highly successful customer labs, a team which works closely with clients to understand their challenges, helping them generate and test new ideas and ultimately build out industry-leading customer facing solutions.

Tarver added, "2013 is already turning into another huge year of growth for Capco. We are changing the face of consulting with our pioneering approach to client engagement. Our people combine innovative thinking with unrivalled first-hand industry knowledge and we continue to look to add the brightest and best minds to our already brilliant workforce. In particular we are seeing a surge of demand from our clients in retail banking, and for our support in developing industry leading end-customer propositions."

This year's list of 25 Best Big Companies features PwC (11), Ernst & Young (14), Accenture (16) and KPMG (24).

The Berkeley Partnership (22) is the highest ranking consultancy in the list of Best Small Companies. Project One (27), Practicus (30), Qedis (40) and Big Ideas Group (49) also feature in the top 50.

For the record, commercial radio group UKRD tops the Sunday Times' Best Companies list.
