Schmitt to lead Capco operations in Continental Europe

Frankfurt: Armin Schmitt is to lead Capco's operations in Continental European, the financial services consultancy announced this week.

Capco partner Schmitt will now have responsibility for the firm in Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and Capco's near shore centre based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Previously, he was head of Capco's operations in Germany, German-speaking Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

Schmitt comments, "The unique mix of opportunities and challenges facing the financial services industry means that demand for Capco's insight, experience and proven delivery capabilities continues to grow.

"To offer our existing and future clients the optimum service response, we have concentrated our offer in three key areas: consulting, sourcing and transformation. We believe these lines of business directly address our clients' needs for innovation, increased customer satisfaction, reduced complexity and greater cost-effectiveness.

"Our consulting and transformation heartland is now strengthened by significant new developments in sourcing, driven by the establishment of a dedicated team. Before he joined Capco in 2007, Schmitt spent some ten years in senior leadership roles in consulting firms, including KPMG and BearingPoint, where he was head of banking for Germany and Switzerland.

He has also worked within the financial services industry. He started his career at Chase Manhattan and also served as co-Head of IT at DZ Bank.
