London: Shamus Rae, lead Partner in KPMG UK's Sourcing Advisory practice, has won the 'outsourcing professional of the year' award for 2011 from The National Outsourcing Association.

Rae has over 14 years of experience in outsourcing, shared services, offshoring and management of large programmes involving complex change in the corporate sector, public sector and banking and insurance.

Prior to joining KPMG, career highlights include helping to build and sell Compass Connections, the specialist finance BPO firm, being one of the founders of WNS, now one of the largest BPO companies floated on the New York stock exchange and creating dozens of shared service centres around the world.

Rae said, "This award is a very welcome addition to an already exciting year for the sourcing advisory team, which saw our successful acquisition of EquaTerra create the largest independent third-party sourcing advisory firm in the UK, with over 150 dedicated sourcing professionals in the UK and Europe."
