London: Capgemini Consulting has appointed David Williams as Chief Executive Officer of Capgemini Consulting operations in the UK, with effect from 1 January 2014, following the recent decision by current CEO Bill Cook to retire at the end of this year.
Capgemini Consulting is the global strategy and transformation consulting organisation of the Capgemini Group, Europe's biggest IT services consulting firm.
Williams will lead one of the UK's largest teams of strategy and management consultants. He is currently responsible for the Consumer Products and Retail (CPR) sector for Capgemini UK, growing this part of the business some 12-fold since 2005.
Christine Hodgson, Capgemini UK Chairman said, "I am looking forward to working with David in his new role, having seen firsthand the excellent results he has achieved managing the Consumer Products and Retail division. I'd also like to wish Bill all the very best in his retirement and thank him for his significant contribution to Capgemini's success over the last twenty five years."
William's Capgemini Consulting team describes itself as focused on helping organisations respond to the challenges of the new digital economy. "Whilst digitisation can extend the reach of organisations, and speed the development of new products and services, the rapid adoption of technologies is disruptive to traditional business models. Capgemini Consulting works in partnership with clients to deliver Digital Transformation", the firm says.
David Williams commented, "I am a consultant through and through and passionate about the strength and potential of Capgemini Consulting. I'm determined to continue our success, building on the great work that Bill and his team have done in recent years."
