London: Public sector outsourcing leader Capita yesterday announced the appointment of Lee Cotsford as managing director of its consulting business.
Cotsford joined Capita in June 2010 to head up the consulting businesses' procurement and commissioning practice, where he was responsible for both Capita plc's procurement and external advisory services on procurement and commissioning for a range of private and public sector clients. His career also includes time spent with KPMG and Axon Global where he worked as a consultant across sectors including financial services, local government and pharmaceuticals.
Andy Parker, deputy chief executive and joint chief operating officer of Capita plc, said, "During his time as head of the procurement and commissioning practice Lee grew the business from one to 90 staff, developed a very strong management team and delivered both operational efficiency and client satisfaction. He specialises in cost reduction and business transformation with an impressive record of delivering tangible benefits through wide ranging initiatives."
Cotsford commented, "Businesses and organisations are, as never before, focusing on the bottom line. But in spite of the climate of austerity, the expectations of customers and citizens are growing. Making improvements to services for end users, while achieving efficiencies for clients, is somewhat of a holy grail. Given, however, Capita's successful track record in delivering savings while improving customer experience and the well-regarded and knowledgeable team here, I feel it's an achievable goal for our clients. I look forward to taking the helm of Capita's consulting business at this important time."
Cotsford's appointment is effective immediately.
