HP shows signs of recovery

Palo Alto, CA.: HP's second quarter figures were well received despite a drop in net income from $1.59 billion to $1.08 billion on revenue down 10% to $27.6 billion. CEO Meg Whitman pointed to "better than expected performance" in Enterprise Services; Enterprise Services revenue declined 8% with a 2.6% operating margin. Application and Business Services revenue was down 10% and IT Outsourcing revenue declined 6%.
