Outsourcing back to pre-crash levels

Stamford, Conn: The global outsourcing industry is off to a fast start in 2014, with the return of the "mega deal" fuelling double-digit growth in first-quarter contract value, according Information Services Group (ISG). Data from the ISG Outsourcing Index, which measures commercial outsourcing contracts with annual contract value (ACV) of $5 million or more, show 10 mega-contracts worth more than $100 million in ACV were signed in the first quarter, marking a return to a typical pre-recession (before 2008) quarterly level. These large contracts, coupled with double-digit growth in overall contracting levels, fueled a 14 percent increase in ACV over the 2013 first quarter.
