MoJ gives Capita £400m tag

London: Public sector and outsourcing specialist Capita plc has been selected by the UK Ministry of Justice (MoJ) as preferred bidder for the electronic monitoring and field support services contract and also the role of overall services and systems integrator. The contract is expected to generate revenues to Capita of some £400m over the initial six year contract term. Let nationally for the first time, the service is expected to generate significant efficiency savings for the MoJ and will exploit new, more sophisticated, GPS-based technology which will allow for curfew, location and proximity monitoring
